I've been making a slideshow in imovie `11 but i seem to be having problems. Some of the pictures have the ken burns effect to zoom in, zoom out or pan over the pic. When i watch it back the pictures seem to be jittery almost like i can see each frame. I was looking for a more smooth quality. Is there a way to achieve this?

Thanks. Can you suggest where I can get one? Or, what search criteria do I submit? Thanks again.

That iBook does not have gigabit ethernet. No iBook has gigabit ethernet. 100mbit is not very fast. We're talking realistically 8-10MB/s, maximum on a 100mbit is 12.5 which you'll never hit.All depends really.

I run most of my stuff at 100Mbit/s, including the Mac mini I use for media. I have no problem with it and it's plenty fast enough. On the gbit linked machines I only notice the difference when moving large amounts of data (e.g. virtual machine images), but that's rare enough that it's just a nice to have.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B118 Safari/6531.22.7)

What is the version? 4.2? Then I don't advise upgrading. The jailbreak for 4.2(redsn0w) is pretty technical and is a tethered jailbreak meaning the jailbreak will go away when you reboot, and many jb apps dont support 4.2. 4.1 is easy to jailbreak with limera1n or greenpois0n though.

If not watching stuff (e.g. using Plex) at the same time as using it as a desktop it should work, but I'd wait for the next Mac Mini refresh if I were you. Apart from the redesign, the Mac Mini 2010 update was pretty disappointing. In fact even the redesign was disappointing as it made it much harder to replace the stock hard drive (though replacing the RAM is much easier than it was before).

If the 13" MBP recent update going from Core 2 Duo to a Core i5 is anything to go by, the Mac Mini refresh hopefully within the next few months or so should bring a substantial CPU update giving a significant performance boost.

    Hi guys,

I've tried MRoogle but couldn't find anything to help me with a strange problem I am having.

When I play certain song on my iPhone 4, it misses out the second or so. However, the time starts at 0.00 and progresses as normal. When I play the song in iTunes, the song plays normally.

I have also found this to be the case on my current gen Apple TV.

The song is listed in iTunes on my MBP as being 3.39, but only 3.38 on both my iPhone and Apple TV.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be, or indeed how I can fix it?

    Thanks!

I want to trade my one week old 16GB iPod Touch for an 8GB iPhone. The only reason I want to trade is because I just like the iPhone better. There are a few small scratches on the back, but that is bound to happen because it is like a mirror. It is in great condition otherwise, like I said, it is exactly one week old. Let me know if you are interested.

Well, Digg had this two days ago...
Anyway, I wonder what impact this will have on their stock this quarter.

The newspapers had it on Friday.

The impact will depend on how much Apple has to revise their profit statements to comply, which I presume we'll learn soon.

I doubt you'll ever see the nano like it once was. I know what you mean though. The nano these days are just not the same. I think they're pretty ugly too.
That's about like saying that thin little "iPod Shuffle" would never turn back into the iPod Shuffle we all know and love. In fact it got changed in its very next update.

Give it time and Apple will either make the current Nano better or make something like the older Nano, with new features of some sort. Only question is, how long will it take? :P

It is always unlocked, even after I've explicitly clicked the lock to lock it , after I re-open System Preferences it still remains unlocked.

I do not do any type of sharing with any computer on my network, so why does that lock gets unlocked by it self?

Im thinking it's normal and there;s nothing to worry about but how do I make the lock stay locked

Also, I've noticed that after you've unlocked something if you don't click the lock to lock it .. it remains open, even after reboot. So, if I forget to lock the lock anyone with access to my computer(physically and over the internet) can change settings that require administrator privilege. Is there a way to rectify this? Or just remember to lock the lock? lol

No, the fastest you can put in it is the T7600. The Mini will not boot if it the CPU has a faster bus speed then 667Mhz.

thanks for the info i found one for less then the t7600 and it has a 6mb cache so i was hoping it would under clock and be a t7600 with a 6mb cache

I went to the West County store straight after work, so since I came from work I unfortunately did not have my camera with me.

After a long wait in the Starbucks line for some requisite "wake-up" juice I made my way towards the Apple store to meet up with my buddy at around 5:15. I am terrible at guesses but I would say we might have been around the 50's-70's in line.

I didn't plan on buying Leopard, I just love these events. I mainly wanted to show up and mix it up with others waiting, and play around with Leopard. After nabbing a free t-shirt in the door I had 4 different employees approach me and ask me how many copies I wanted. I told them that I wanted to play mainly.

After playing around for 15-20 minutes I decided just to buy it right there.

Haven't had the chance to install yet, but I love these Apple events! I went to the Tiger release at the West County store, and the opening event at the Galleria. I wish we had another opening around here sometime soon...I love this stuff.

Have you tried Brasso (or any such equivalent)?

It's a fine abrasive metal (but works fine on plastic) polishing compound, that should, with a little time and patience, polish out the scratches, I used it to buff out rather large scratches on the Apple logo on the side of an old Power Mac G3 years ago, and it works a treat, removed all traces of 1-2mm deep, 5cm long scratches and left the logo with an absolutely perfect shine.

Just make sure the plastic is of the coloured and not the painted type though, otherwise you'll just polish off the colour. ;)

Well, this message is indeed awkwardly-worded. Anyone who speaks English and uses iTunes will instantly realise that something is wrong with this!

realise???? Uh, oh.... I'm getting prompted on my speaking of English. LOL

    Like this:

Apple: When did you purchase it?

Me: About a month ago, probably less than that...

What if they ask for like, information ;) I am paranoid about these things ;P

Not sure where to post this but this is quite interesting. Here (http://replay.waybackmachine.org/19970715132101/http://www.apple.com/companystore/more.html) is what the company store website looked back in 1997.
