Reminds me of those minivans with a complete list of pets and family members that morons put on the back window in the form of stick figures. Sometimes with family names underneath.

That may present a problem in So. Cal., but for me I always get a smile out of those charactures.

Before I start: This is not a complaint thread. I'm just wondering about other forum members.

Is anybody else having difficulty trying to use Lion frequently? I've kept up to date with the latest update but am I the only one who just switches back to SL because of bugs and hangs. I love the new features and know that there's going to be many bugs but is anybody else experiencing stuff that is annoying them so much they switch back to Snow Leopard next time they boot?

Nope, I'm using Lion full time. There are no show stoppers for me, just bugs every now and then.

When you slam the lid down, does your computer go to sleep or it still runs? It happened to me on Preview 1 that the entire machine was still running even when the lid is closed. I got tired of having to shut down my computer all the time and decided to go back to Snow Leopard, because I'm consistently mobile.

I just downloaded Preview 2 from MAS, but still unsure if I should install it since this is the biggest issue I ran into. Somebody please confirm.

Just noticed the apple store website is down in Australia - the education one at least. I am ready for a new computer. Probably a laptop - but I will go an imac maybe... then get an old laptop. My 17" MBP is only 2years old and is falling apart. I should take pictures. You wouldn't believe what my battery looks like. (And that is just one problem).
Anyhoo... Im in the market and hoping!

Simple. Use carbon copy cloned to mirror your Mac on the external drive. Then boot off the external on a friends Mac and sync your iOS devices with your data

Hey, just wondering if anyone knows how to get Connect360 to update with the latest stuff in my Movies folder. I converted something and it wouldnt show up on the 360, ever after rebooting the console.

I had to stop sharing with Connect360 and resume again to get it on the console.

    Thanks.

    Currently out of stock though.

If you think about it, these are custom parts made just for the iPod nano, it can't be easy to get hold of parts that aren't taken out of another broken iPod.

If you did not want a mudslinging contest, you would not have slung mud.

I am not a "hopeful 'visual artist'." Currently, visual art is my primary income pipeline. As my resume states, I am the Director of Promotion and Marketing for a large consulting firm in Silicon Valley -- not a position reached by being "hopeful".

However, after Berkeley, architecture will obviously grossly supersede it as an income source.

My "quotations" were an approximation of the intention contained in your original message. To say otherwise is only a self-congratulating delusion.

In my life I have never rammed anything down anyone's throat.

The world would be full of pity if you turned out older than me. Let's hope that isn't the case.

P.S., Nothing you said was potent enough to "destroy" any "system". (And you're trying to say I'M riding a "little cloud"?)

Also, it may be worth your while becoming familiar with some of the major content-management systems out there if you have time (Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal - listed roughly in order of increasing complexity/power).

We messed with Drupal for a little bit and honestly at the time I wasn't a huge fan, but I think part of it was because I don't know PHP. I do think it's worth getting to know though, so I'll be working with it more. Might check out Wordpress too since people seem to like it.

Also, like someone else said, make sure your design is consistent across different browsers. Since you are learning, you're probably looking at a lot of divs and what not. Divs are nifty, but browsers don't agree with them 90% of the time. This means grabbing a copy of Windows, downloading Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8, and 9 to make sure everything looks correct. This is one of every designer/developers biggest complaints and why Internet Explorer is hated beyond words.

Yeah, I already didn't like Internet Explorer, but since I've started web design... I wish I could pretend it didn't exist.

haha Mr ezekielrage_99, real funny, you are a TWIT, i wasnt asking for free design, ive done my 10 years plus pal, i was just simply asking for maybe a direction with technique as its something i would like to master, basically i tried a few tutorials, but nothing was cutting, i needed something special, thats why i asked the forum, because i would expect to find descent helpful designers trying help out a fellow designer, thats what design is all about, sharing your knowledge, not being a tight arse like yourself.

to citizenzen, i agree with your comments and this is why i having trouble with my design, the logo is for a music festival and the client wanted a specific concept where the logo was floating in the sky as clouds, but because of the shape of the logo it had to look perfect.

please have a look at my latest result, which is looking better, but maybe it could be perfected!

thank you everyone for your responses, even ezekielrage_99!
    Thanks Chester

No. For a couple of reasons at least:

    1) A late 09 anything does not understand Thunderbolt

    2) Unless specifically advertised just having a Thunderbolt port does not imply that the device has the controller circuitry to act as a "hub" for all the other ports in it: if you hook together two Thunderbolt capable MBPs they don't see each others ports for example.

ok. so you read the title. basically, it lets you listen to music in apps such as iParkIt, with headphones or the speaker.
you're gonna need a device with iOS 4 or higher with multitasking abilities, and the apple headphones, or any other brand of headphones, but they must have the remote on them.
    1. first, open the app.
    2. plug in your headphones
    3. open the multitasking bar up
    4. the music play button should be greyed out.
    5. press the play button for music on your headphones.
    6. if you wanna listen through the headphones, you're done, just return to the app.
    7. if you wanna listen through the speakers, don't close the multitasking bar, just press play on the headphones, unplug them, and you should be able to press play for your music.
    8. return to app
    9. enjoy the full awesomeness of multitasking.

So this weekend my Zune reached the point of 3.75 MB of free space remaining. With my iPod 5.5G sidelined for a few years because of harddrive lag, and my Zune now out of space, I realized that I need to upgrade. However I don't want to do a regular 'New iPod purchase' but something more fun.

    Upgrade iPod Video 30 80GB to 120GB HDD mk1224gah - eBay (item 250691849228 end time Apr-01-11 09:20:55 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/Upgrade-iPod-Video-30-80GB-120GB-HDD-mk1224gah-/250691849228?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5e660c0c)

My first plan was to just buy that, switch out the harddrive and have a fresh new 120gb on my old iPod and stop there. But then I started thinking. If I'm gonna upgrade the harddrive, couldn't I just upgrade everything else?

Basically what I'm trying to do here is turn my iPod into a 6G iPod with a 5G body. Having hacked and modded my iPod numerous times before, I know this isn't simply just a firmware overwrite - the innards of the current 5.5G are not compatible with the firmware of the 6G iPods. So I'm thinking of buying the hardware from 6G iPods to replace on my 5.5G iPod so it will be 6G firmware compatible.

Am I crazy or could this just might work?
    Can anyone help me out?
What hardware I need to swap out, how to get my Computer and iTunes to read it as a 6G iPod, etc?

Did some research, looks like I may or may not have to switch out for more RAM for this to work, but definitely need a new processor? Before I make purchases I would like to know is this even possible?

I like the whole idea, it works for me - until I realize I'm stuck with Mac, what am I suppose to do with my MP3 player? I guess the logical answer would be, buy an i-pod? Who has the money to go buy everything as soon as it is on the market? Come on folks, give us MP3 users a chance!

Hmmm...I wonder if it's incompatible with 2011 MBPs, then. I have friends who have 09/10 MBPs and the update has installed with no issues for them.

The only thing that's making me reserve judgement on its incompatibility is Apple pushing it out to '11 MBPs and not making any comments in the 'About This Update...' section of the Software Update. It seems very lax on their part.

Yeah, Pixar pretty much wins every year except for Cars and Monsters Inc. There was not a category for animated film when Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were released.

This year Toy Story 3 was nominated for Best Picture also, which is a big deal since that's only happened three times for an animated film (Beauty and the Beast, UP and Toy Story 3).

Jobs actually went to the Oscars last year for UP.
