Check out Rick Steves for some ideas. Granted, the man's always checking out churches (which is fine if you like history type stuff) but he also has some fantastic recommendations for out-of-the-way places too.
Dusseldorf is beautiful, and relatively low on tourism compared to Berlin or Munich (albeit Munich has the Englischer Garten which is clothing-optional). Still, I'm more of the "spend a month in one place" type of traveller than move around so much.
And if you're in Amsterdam looking for sex, avoid the places that give you a free t-shirt. :D

FYI, a cracked screen is not purely cosmetic.... a scratch might be. A crack can lead to moisture getting inside, or dust, etc. But on that note, once its fixed, it would be like new. Or someone can mickey mouse it.

How much do you think the Lion update would cost?
My guess is around $100, so it may be worth waiting for a little while. At this point, I personally won't be upgrading for a while, as I'm not a huge fan of what I have seen so far out of Lion.

I wasn't expecting any...the ibooks and the powerbooks are the only expected update and they have rebates until the 25th...look for new laptops then...maybe the 26th

I'm gonna give it until the 3rd week of Oct is over, then I'll give up and just buy a used PB 667 to hold me over till the new stuff comes out. But I'll be darned if I pay $3200 for an 800mhz G4, I don't care how sexy it is.

No, I haven't installed any hacks, themes, or anything like that. I think altering the OS is just asking for trouble.
The only beta software I'm running is iChat AV, but I haven't done much with it and I rarely run it. I also ran Safari when that was beta (though I never ran any of the "unofficial" versions).
There also aren't any error messages in the Console.

I was kinda Surprised that Universal is in the rental deal with itunes espacaily after the whole NBC pulling out of itunes deal i wonder if this was a move made by universal to try to get NBC Back?

What's everyone's favorite CMS and what kind of CMS do you have? Recently I've been taking web development more seriously and have been working primarily with Drupal. I really enjoy Wordpress though and find it much easier to teach a client how to use WP3 compared to D7. I've never tried Joomla, and have been seeing what all the fuss is about RoR a couple years late :p.
My next personal project is a niche community site, trying to decide what would be the best fit. I know another drupal developer who has much more experience, but we don't know if it'd be the ideal platform for what we want to create.

Ok, I know it's just a wee niggle and I knew that there would be some bashing but it's fairly annoying to see 10-15 posts that are clearly attention-seeking. I'm just saying it's a bit immature to write a post with a title that has so many question marks. Also, the type of thread that has a title like that is likely to be short, pointless and uninformative. I know I'm stereotyping here, but what I'm trying to say is: the thread title normally is just a drop of water that, when you open the thread, turns into a flood.

May I suggest that you backup your Photos and other imprtant data to optical medaia (DVD-R/CD-R)?
They are backed up on DVD-R's and on a FW Hard Drive (and on my iPod). Maybe too many backups :)

Same way you would any other member variable of a class. Either make it a property and synthesise the accessors or write your own accessors.

The update simply overwrites the files on your phone but still keeps everything intact like your music, photos, apps etc. The full restore will wipe out everything making you start from scratch.
I just did a full restore to 4.3.2 since mine was sluggish and slow. You can do either or but I always prefer doing a full restore since it clears everything out.
Wish there was a reliable way to keep packages, icon placements, manually installed deb's, and tweaks without having to-do them all. There's package backup, and apt backup, but it's not a full "click to restore" that would be ideal for me.... so it makes little hops like going from 4.3.2 to 4.3.3 kinda more pain than it's worth.

Another option if you do not want to go with a USB player or worry about Audio out from a receiver or AV Processor is the NAD PP3i ($199). There are a few others out there, but they are creeping into the $500+ price range. I am looking at this unit for myself so I can plug my turntable into it, use a USB cable to connect to my Mac Mini and rip the albums with the NAD software ($25 extra). It helps with tagging the songs, removing clicks and pops, and exports to various audio files including ALAC, which is what I use.
